    Director's biography: 1971, Motorcycle Heart , a biofiction short on Niki De Saint-Phalle, is Stephanie Varela's third film based on the life of a painter.Living in Paris and specialising in Motion Painting, she incorporates this animation technique in her practice as a painter and film director. Her range covers contemporary art films, documentaries, web series, music and advertising videos, Performance Art, history of cinema and animation. Her work has been favourably noticed by, among others, David Lynch and Serge Bromberg.



July, 1971: Christian Ravel, the French motorcycle rising star, is on his way to take part in an important competition in Belgium. His moto breaks down close to Niki de Saint Phalle’s studio. They spend a few hours together, long enough for a romantic encounter in which their respective worlds come together.
