Rafaela Camelo
Biography:Rafaela Camelo is a film director and screenwriter born in Brazil in 1985. She has a bachelor s degree as a filmmaker at University of Brasilia (DF, Brazil) and a graduate degree in scripwritting from Armando Alvares Penteado Foundation (Sao Paulo, Brazil). Her short "Desires of the Flesh" was premiered at Sundance Film Festival 2019 and won the best short film prize at Festival Biarritz Amerique Latine and Fest New Directors/New Films this same year. Her debut "The Art of Walking Through the Streets" was exhibited at the Havana Film Festival 2012 and received awards for best film, best script and best director at many festivals around the world. Both religiosity and coming-of-age are recurrent subjects in the stories she writes. She is now preparing her first feature film, "Blood of My Blood", winner of the prix BAL-LAB of feature project at Festival Biarritz Amerique Latine 2019.
