His short film Family Nightmare made stops at Sundance, Locarno, AFI, True/False, and dozens of other festivals; it won Honorable Mention at HotDocs and was nominated for Outstanding Short Film at the Cinema Eye Honors. The New Yorker said his 2013 short Lydia Hoffman Lydia Hoffman "packs the emotional amplitude of a feature film into its fifteen minutes". L Magazine named him the Best Brooklyn Filmmaker to Watch.
