All the Crows in the World wins the Palme d’Or at Cannes 2021

Director Tang Yi won the prestigious award with the 15-minute dark comedy All the Crows in the World.
Drawing from the director’s personal experience as a teenager, the film was shot and set in Mainland China. The film’s main character, a 18-year-old student, goes to a mysterious party with her cousin. The party is filled with greasy middle-aged men, but Shengnan forms an unlikely bond with a man who is different from them.
Yi’s focus is on stories about women, underrepresented groups and social issues through a subversive, darkly comedic lens.
Premium films also represent Yi’s previous film, Black Goat (2019), which was awarded the Jury Award for Narrative Student Short at the 2019 Austin Film Festival.
